Barry Hammond, John Seaton and Jeff Watson stuck it out on Saturday to win the Odd and Even Stableford with 78 points. In second place were John Ford, Crispian Logue and Mike Short with 76 points beating Simon Mulvey, Andy Hart and Duncan Cheslett on countback. The twos were worth £5.44 per person.
There is a presentation tomorrow (Saturday, 21 November). If you are on the list of voucher winners (found here), please turn up with your jacket and tie to collect your voucher from the Captain. The presentation will start at 5pm.
How good are your spikes? The course is very wet and several people have slipped and fallen during the past week. It's no fun going for a burton so I recommend that old spikes are replaced with new, the condition of the spikes in your heels being crucial. If you bring your spikes in we can normally change them within minutes so I would suggest that you have them done before you play. We also stock the metal spike which, in truth, is the best for really wet and muddy conditions as they won't get clogged like the cleats. To play better golf and stay on your feet you need every bit of traction you can get.
Christmas is fast approaching; with only five weeks to go. It's now the time to start thinking about buying presents and also thinking about what people can buy for you! We have a wide selection of products in the shop and for those that want to order in items, now is the time to do so. Delivery times are longer this time of year due to the high demands. So make sure you order ASAP. Remember we sell gift vouchers, Swing Studio vouchers and lesson vouchers; so when you are asked what you would like to receive this Christmas please suggest these!
Since we opened the new Swing Studio earlier this year, the weather has been really quite kind, until now. Since the weather has changed it has really become apparent what an asset the Studio is and what a transformation this has made. We now have a 12 month golfing season!

You can hire the room (maximum of two players at a time) as members of Reddish Vale for £16 per hour, with 4 for the price of 3 netting it down to £12 per hour; or £6 each per hour if there are two of you. That's probably less than a large bucket of balls at the range! Have yourselves a nearest the pin competition, try to knock it on the 16th (par-3!) at Carnoustie.
Be warned, once you discover what is possible this is highly addictive, the time flies and you won't want to come out!
Come along, see what it's all about and be amazed at the technology. Contact us in the pro shop to check availability, please book in advance to avoid disappointment. Here's a quote from Ben Hogan: 'The only thing a golfer needs is more daylight'. Now you can have it in more ways than one!
I have been busy with lots of lessons recently and thanks to the new facility, I no longer have lessons cancelled due to bad weather. This time of year is perfect for refining your technique and doing any necessary changes to improve your swing; making sure you have the best possible 2016 season. I am offering 4 for the price of 3 this winter so book your lessons in now. One a month will be most beneficial. Get in touch here.
Also we are trying to introduce more people to golf and to Reddish Vale. This winter if you bring a beginner with you on your lesson then your guest will go free, whether it is your partner, child, parent or friend. Bring them along to enjoy the fun.
