Putters
The PING Cadence putters have been a huge success; we sold out of our first bulk of putters and now more stock has arrived.
You can choose from a variety of styles and also have a choice of standard weight or heavy depending on your preference. The PING putters have TR (True Roll) technology which helps to improve the consistency of your putting.

Irons
PING has expanded their range of irons for this year by adding two new models. Being renowned for making good products, these are no exception. The new i irons (pictured below) are a more classic looking iron, designed for players who have mid to low handicaps but who are still wanting that little bit of forgiveness. When I first saw these irons I immediately took a liking to them, once the demo clubs come into stock I will certainly be up in the Swing Room to get custom fitted for a set.
There other new iron, the GMax, is the ultimate club for forgiveness. PING have used COR-Eye technology which creates a simultaneous activation of the sole, face and top rail which increases ball speed and adds more distance and control and enabling you to hit straighter shots more consistently.
Come and try our demos and see how they can benefit your game. To find out more about the new PING irons, click on the images below to view some videos on our website.
Well done to Steve Cole who wins the Captain's Prize by seven shots. Steve shot an opening round of 67 but was disappointed to finish with a double-bogey on the 18th. On Sunday we definitely had the worst weather of the weekend but Steve still managed to card a nett 70 to claim victory. The best score of the weekend was Alex Wigley's 65 nett on Saturday.
The talk in the clubhouse on Sunday was about a new record for the Vale. Unfortunately, it was no new course record. It was in actual fact Duncan Cheslett who managed to seven putt the ninth green, which made John Travis's six putts on the same green look respectable. You may ask how Duncan had so many putts, well here's how:
Putt 1 - Slid past the hole and went off the front of the green
Putt 2 - Left it short and it rolled back to his feet
Putt 3 - Left it short and it rolled back to his feet
Putt 4 - Got to within a foot of the hole before stopping and then rolling back to his feet
Putt 5 - Got it to 3 ft from the hole
Putt 6 - Slid by
Putt 7 - SUCCESS!!
Our Wednesday Section was away this week at Crosland Heath Golf Club. Crosland Heath is also a Mackenzie course designed just a few years after the Vale. Everyone who went on that trip have complimented the course and have recommended that if you happen to be in the area you should definitely play a round there. Jeff Stockton was victorious on the trip as he won with 41 points, second was Alan Booth with 40 points and third was Vinny Costello with 36 points. Ryan Jackson won the NP in two on the 10th and Dave Hamilton won the NP on the 17th. Well done to all the winners.
Meanwhile we had a Pro's Stableford for the members who did not go on the trip. Nick Hayward won with 41 points, seven points clear of Andy Covell and Keith Pownall. The twos were worth £7.25 each. Click here to see the full results.
Curtis Brokenbrow, Kevin Seaton and Brian Cole played the play-off for the Frank Brown Shield on Thursday evening. The play-off was very close and came down to the final hole but Kevin Seaton held his nerve to win by one shot from Curtis. Kevin, Curtis and Brian can be seen below.
