Simon Nicholls, Neil Bowden & Les Jones won Saturdays 3 Man Stableford with 82 points. On Saturday morning Simon invested in two of the new Vokey wedges which only came in on the Friday, and which I can tell you have been very well received indeed. Simon was so pleased with the wedges that straight after his round he ordered a 46 degree to compliment his new 52 and 58. Simon commented that he had never really managed to generate much backspin before, but he had now. It is in the shop waiting Simon! Neil Bowden is a recent new member who played well and is improving quickly. Derek Wilson commented that Les Jones had a net 63 by himself so this would have certainly helped too. Second with 80 points was Paul Bruckshaw, Graham Briscoe & Dave Green.
Presentation
Saturday 22nd March at 5.00 is Ian Doyle's final presentation as Captain. Ian's presentations have been well supported over the past year so if you have won a prize, please turn up and collect it on Saturday. Have a look at the vouchers being presented by clicking here.
In addition, if you are on the unclaimed vouchers list (click here) go along and collect these too. There have been far fewer unclaimed vouchers this year so well done, and only a few go back an embarrassing length of time. Anyway, don't be embarrassed, go and get them!
Stablefords
Well done to Greg Knight who won Sunday's stableford with 38 pts. Greg has very consistently scored between 32 and 34 points over the winter, but this week made the breakthrough. Steve Smith finished second with 36 pts, and Adam Stott had a 4 under par back nine of to finish third with 35.
Two's for Sunday were worth a decent £7.80 each.
Adam fired another 4 under par back nine on Wednesday, this time for a 63 gross and victory with 39 pts. Adam said he played well but was just disappointed to miss a shortish par putt on the last for 40! Andy Covell second with 38 pts and Curtis third with 35.

Pro's Cross Country
All the fun really begins next week with my Pro's Cross Country on Saturday. The course will be devised over the next few days, so I will put a preview in next week's letter for those who want to suss it out! As well as being great fun, this is also the final event of the winter order of merit. Don't miss this one whatever you do.
Captains' Drive In
John Seaton drives in as Captain, and Sheila Brookes drives in as Lady Captain on Sunday 30th March at 1.00. Please turn up and support our incoming Captains as we wish them an excellent year ahead at Reddish Vale. The drive-in will be followed by a 2 from 4 to count team competition, which is a shotgun start at 1.30. Get your name down on the list which is on the notice board.
Twitter
Please follow us on Twitter @reddishvalegc . This week we have put some lovely pictures of the course on there, and various snippets of information as things happen on a daily basis. This is another means of getting the word out there of what people are missing in the greatness of Reddish Vale. Please help us promote the club and any re-tweets would be much appreciated!

Visitors have commented this week how good our greens are, and how bad some others are that I won't mention! One person even said they were too fast. The stimpmeter doesn't make an appearance in March so I can't tell you exactly what they are but I know they're good.
Guess the year
Thank you to Jack Cooper for supplying the photo of Perse on the 9th tee last week - and thank you for your responses to it. Because the picture created some interest, here is another one. Click the picture to enlarge it. There are few holes as distinctive as our 16th, and here is a great shot of it a few years ago. There are a few less trees there than what we see in 2014.
What year you think this picture was taken? I'll give you a clue it's before England won the world cup! The person who is the closest will receive a dozen Srixon AD333 from me. If there is a tie I have a tie-breaker waiting. Click here to submit your answer and good luck!
