Greetings from Andrew Myers
Reddish Vale Golf Club - PGA Golf Professional

The flags went back onto the summer greens on Monday. The greens staff have cut and ironed the greens on Tuesday and Wednesday, buggies were allowed out again on Thursday and although still cold, the golf season doesn't feel so far away!

My lesson diary has really filled up this week; don't forget I offer 4 lessons for the price of 3 until the end of March so if you want to hit the ground running at the start of the new season get them booked in! I have a couple of days a week which are spent purely in the shop, but I teach on most days including Saturdays. If you are interested in a lesson, please call the shop or get in touch here.

The GC2 simulator and all the fittings for the new Swing Room are arriving from the USA in the next week so I will be able to fit the room with all the new kit. The version I have gone for is the fully fitted simulator with the best flooring and screen possible, along with fully carpeted walls and ceiling! Thank you for all of the interest and questions about the new facility - you will be able to use it shortly and all details about prices etc will follow soon. By the way, I have gone for the 'Champions pack' of courses so you can play a choice of 20 courses on the simulator including The Belfry (Brabazon) and Pebble Beach (as seen below)!

I am hopeful that this new facility will attract players from other clubs as it will be the best one in the area, but primarily this is aimed at the members of Reddish Vale who will, of course, receive by far the best rates and access. Just think you could book a lesson when it is raining, freezing cold or dark outside and you wouldn't even know! To register your interest in using the new Swing Room, please contact me here.

This week's new stock includes both cart and carry bags from Titleist, as well as Titleist caps and FootJoy gloves.

Titleist 915 - Find yours

The 915 range is the best and most versatile range of Titleist drivers to date. Lots of players have tried the 915 demos and many have bought the driver straight after. Please compare my price of £319 to the competition, and as usual you will find that as well as being able to demo my products that they are cheaper here as well! Adam Stott is very fond of his Titleist 913 driver and commented the other day that it is his favourite driver to date.

Anyway, Adam decided to take a 915 out for a round on Wednesday. Adam took a D2 in 9.5 degree with the 'Rogue Black' shaft in stiff flex. After his round Adam said that he couldn't believe the difference, and how much further the 915 went compared to his beloved 913. I looked at the clubface and all the strikes I could see were absolutely central as you would expect from a +4 handicapper! It's no wonder 47 players on the US Tour are currently using this product. Whatever your handicap is, from high to +4, there is a Titleist driver with the right spec for you. Click here to book a fitting.

Spikeless shoes selling well

Spikeless shoes are going really well already! I have various styles so please come in and look at the ones that appeal most to you. They are light and comfortable and start from £59.99, get your pair now.

Motocaddy trolleys

Motocaddy is the leading brand for golf trolleys all over the world, they are extremely reliable and I have chosen to stock them because they are so good. They have a few ranges of trolleys (click here to view Motocaddy's complete range) which I can order in for you; there are also choices of batteries. Lithium batteries are now being delivered again after a delay caused by the demise of the City Link courier service. Bill Coll is using his Motocaddy that he won in the Christmas Draw and is very pleased with it.

I can once again offer 4 dozen crested Pro V's for the price of 3 - on the new Pro V's and with the cresting for FREE. This has got to be the best offer on the best golf balls that you will find. You can have up to 17 characters on each line (including spaces) up to 3 lines, and any message or words of your choice within reason. Company names are also fine. I believe stock is more restricted than usual this year with this being a new ball - so don't miss out and order yours now for delivery in March. Come and speak to us in store for more information.

Saturday's 2 from 3 to count Bogey was played on temporary greens due to the heavy frost, nevertheless we had 32 teams play. We had some cracking scores, with the team of Bill Bramhall, Phil Harrison and Ken Whitlow winning with a score of 19 up. There were four teams tied on 16 up, but Dave Hamilton, Craig Davies and Lee Addison came in with the best back 8, ahead of Paddy Weadick, Alan Finney and Paul Wade in third. There were loads of twos so by the time they were divided three ways resulted in £1.88 per player.

John Devenney had the best round on Sunday and by some margin as he won my Pro's Stableford with 47 points. John had scored the 47 after 17 holes, and playing partners Andy MacKenzie and Pete Woodfinden were willing John to finish with a 3 pointer on the last to reach the magic 50! It was not to be as John failed to score at the last but still won by four from recent new member Andy Hallisey who opened his account in style. There were 6 twos, each worth £6.50 with John Devenney making three of them! Click here for the full results.

Wednesday's Pro's Stableford was won by Brian Cole with 43 points, three ahead of Andy Young in second. There was a decent field of 30 players so I have gone down to third with Alan Finney on 39. There were 5 two's each worth £6.00. Click here for the full results.
