Throwback to 1972
I received an old picture this week, which was taken during the Captain’s Prize of 1972. Can you identify where the picture is taken? And can you identify the player? It has been a while (before I was born actually, yes really!) so this should narrow it down a bit, and he is still a member of the club today. There is a FREE sleeve of balls for the first response with two correct answers! If anyone else has time to look for any pieces of history like this I would be very interested to see them.

Happy 90th birthday Happy Birthday to Andy Hart who reached the age of 90 this week! Andy’s handicap index is currently 15.1, and I know Andy wants to add to his tally of majors and get back down to single figures again! Congratulations Andy and I would like to wish you well for 2021.

New stock is piling in already I don’t know quite when it will be, but good times are ahead and it’s encouraging to receive boxes of new kit arriving for the coming golf season. Some of which have been on order for ages so at last, more good stuff is coming through.
All we need now is for the course to open again so we can use it!

eBay sales Turn your unwanted clubs into new equipment… It is fair to say I have been inundated with unwanted, second-hand equipment already. Keep it coming! I am just about keeping up, and with all the new stock arriving you can consider it something of an investment. If you want a valuation, no problem! Just call the shop or knock on the window I am here most of the time. We sell clubs for you and credit your account with the proceeds. Any decent second-hand clubs such as sets of irons, drivers, putters and wedges are selling well and for good prices! Now is a very good time to bring stuff in because I have the time to list it!

English top in Hawaii Tour golf is very much a way of life and an unforgiving one at that. As recently as 2019, Harris English was struggling to return to the PGA Tour, having lost his card and been demoted to the Korn Ferry Tour (this is the feeder tour to the PGA, much like the Challenge Tour in Europe). Now, English is a PGA Tour champion once again. The 31-year-old picked up his first victory since 2013 at the Sentry Tournament of Champions in Hawaii, having fought off Justin Thomas’ pursuit of a third title in five years at the event. What an achievement, and one for the sentimentalists. If you have any golf-related questions or enquiries, feel free to get in touch using the button below. |
