Final assistant’s news – word from Abbie
This was my last week as assistant professional at Reddish Vale GC, as it is time to move on to new challenges.
I started my time in the pro shop on work experience from high school and remember being petrified of answering phones and serving customers. 10 years later, I am now nearly qualified as a PGA Professional. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time working in The Pro Shop and thanks to all the members, staff and guests for making my time pass so quickly and be so memorable.
Reddish Vale has, and always will be more than a work place to me, and I have made many friends for life at Reddish Vale.
Helping to develop the junior section is probably my proudest achievement. Watching the young golfers mature and grow in confidence over the last 3 seasons has been really inspiring. Sincere thanks to Grandma (Sheila) who assisted me on Sundays with their coaching. I know the Pro will continue to progress the section and I wish the juniors well in their upcoming matches.
My biggest thanks go to The Pro, Andrew, who has given me so many opportunities and support on and off the golf course to develop my career. He is one of the hardest working people I have ever come across and he does a great job for Reddish Vale and I know he will continue to do so in the future.
I have met my replacements, Holly and Saskia, who will be assisting The Pro in the shop, and both seem really nice, and have many skills that will bring benefits to the club. I wish them both all the best for their new positions.
I wish all at Reddish Vale well, urge you to support this great club and most of all, enjoy your golf!
If you don’t – book a lesson!
