Please note: crested garments are very nice and make clothing that much more special, but they do take longer to come so please get in early.

They can't get enough...

Despite the fact that winter has not yet fully arrived, usage of The Swing Studio has really increased this week, and we are very pleased that a group of members from Heaton Moor Golf Club have discovered it. It’s all new to them and they can’t get enough!

So if it’s a foul day but you wish to play golf in perfect conditions; call your Pro Shop to check availability of the studio, we will do our best to fit you in. And if you don’t want to waste precious time, energy and diesel crawling through miles of traffic to the nearest range and still practice in the cold; also give us a ring. We don’t use yellow Srixon range balls in there you get new Pro V’s!

You can play 16 top courses: the ‘Champions’ package we have is the one containing the most British courses including four Open venues. And if you find places like Carnoustie a bit tough, have as many ‘mulligans’ as you like and simply have another go or play favourite shots over and over again.

Practice on the Driving Range: See how far you hit each club and receive eye opening data.

Play nearest The Pins: Favourites include 15th at Kingbarns – 17th Sonoma Shores – 10th at Congressional – 13th at Celtic Manor - find your own favourites.

Play Longest Drive: The 12th at Kingsbarns is a great driving hole played from a raised tee and with the beach and sea all down the left.

Many recent winners have been the ones who take lessons - and who listen, act and put it into practice. You can be a winner.

Winter special – 4 for 3 on all lessons.

Have one a month you will enjoy it and it will do you good. The GC2 displays your improvement in numbers and pictures. It gives players the confidence they need to stick to a long term plan they know works.

We do offer evening lessons or you can hire the swing studio in the evening but please book in advance.

Bunker work

Two weeks ago we looked at the new drainage to the rear and along the side of the 18th green. This work is now finished, it looks great and we wait for a massive deluge of rain to see how it performs.

Last week we looked at an aerial shot from above the right hand bunkers on the second. We could see the outline of the re-bunkering and also the heights and shapes of the surrounding slopes. Since then much work has taken place and if you look at the pictures now you can see how the new bunker, which was formerly two bunkers is taking shape. You can see that there is a Mackenzie style arm extending from the face of the bunker into the bunker, and this appears to divide the bunker in two sections; so when you look from the tee there will be two visible sand faces, one on either side of the arm. 

Wednesday Section Presentation

Well done to Colin Barr who has done a fantastic job as Wednesday Section Chairman this year.
Don’t forget it’s the Wednesday Section AGM and presentation tonight where Colin will hand over to Lee Costello our new Wednesday Section Chairman.

Well done to Ryan Jackson who has won golfer of the year again, with Paul Sloane second and Kevin Seaton third. The Chairman’s prize was won by Mike Radcliffe, with Jason Leech second and Stewart Flint third. David Lewis won The Frank Brown Shield, from Don Roberts second and Paul Sloane third.

Who said the low handicappers have no chance of winning?
