This week we look at how our Seniors will look the part, why you should book in for a gapping session, and offer you a way to have an advantage out there on the course.

Smart Seniors

Our seniors section play every Tuesday morning and are always looking to recruit more players minimum of 55 years old. They play lots of social golf as well their own series of competitions and their own series of inter club matches.

And the seniors will be wearing their club crest with pride!

The seniors section have purchased matching Glenmuir crested team shirts with ‘Seniors’ monogrammed beneath; so they can all look smart as they wear their team uniform when playing matches home and away.

Teams wearing matching uniform are always better presented than those who don’t. Tartan Green is the team colour which is an excellent choice.

It’s very smart, the colour goes with any trousers and a neutral colour which avoids the football divide. This is the same colour worn by last season’s highly successful Dunham Trophy team when we reached finals day for the first time in twenty odd years.

If you have a trip away or want team shirts we can get them crested and monogrammed at a special price as the team discounts we receive are passed onto you.

You can have the club crest with anything you like (within reason) monogrammed on there; we can order garments individually but the minimum to qualify for team discount is 12 garments.

Improve your golf

Now the weather has returned to a more normal temperature we have had a surge in the booking of golf lessons. Improve any part of your game by seeking help and booking a lesson.

We teach on the practice ground, in the swing studio and on the golf course.

Coaching is available most days so if there is a flaw in your game, or if you just want to get better do something about it.

Be realistic though...

Crash courses of lessons don’t work.

Trying to do too much too quickly will just send you on overload and drive you round the bend!

Sometimes there is a quick fix for a specific fault, but if you wish to acquire new skill and get better in the long term this takes time. Work to a realistic time frame. Have lessons but space them sensibly apart, give yourself chance to improve before you take the next step.

We will work at the right speed for you.

Ladies Group Coaching

We are now running a Ladies Group Coaching class on Sunday’s 3.30pm-4.30pm, which is aimed at beginners/novice players. 

Last time we ran ladies group coaching it was very successful; several ladies made friends and joined the club. 

In fact, there were so many ladies the group became too big, and with our very limited practice facilities it made things rather difficult.

This time places are more limited, so please contact us in The Pro Shop as soon as possible to register ladies who would like to join in.

Have the advantage

Are you still trying to guestimate the yardage to the flag? Are you disappointed with a good shot that ends up either too short or ends up flying through the back of the green?

You are disadvantaged if you don’t use the technology which is there to help you. Once you have one you won’t go back and it’s almost essential you carry a Rangefiner or GPS device.

Take the guess work out of the game.

A laser will give you the exact yardage to the flag and a GPS will show you the yardages to the front, middle and back of each green.
