Bridgestone Ball Fitting
Bridgestone Ball Fitting day is Saturday 28th June between 10 and 2. Please book to avoid disappointment as there are only a few 15 minute appointments left now. The fitting consists of you hitting an iron which allows the Pro (with the help of a launch monitor) to calculate your swing speed, ball spin rates and more to find the best ball for you. These fittings will take place in the practice net. Book now in the Pro Shop.
Try Our Demo's
Jason Leech (pictured) tried one of our PING S55 demo 7 irons on Wednesday. I think it's fair to say Jason liked it as not only did he strike it nicely but used it to hole his tee shot on the 4th for a hole in one.
The hole in one 7 iron has a stiff flex shaft and a Golf Pride grip. Incidentally the PING S55 was the most played iron in last week's US Open. Always try before you buy.
Here you can take the demos out for a round with no obligation, see the full ball flight and get a true feel for the club.
Trion:Z
We are on our second batch of Trion:Z wristbands and they are still flying out the door. For the people that don't have one or haven't heard of one, these wristbands have magnets in them which help to increase flood flow and reduce aches, pains and joints stiffness. The majority of people that have arthritis have said how fantastic they are and they can really tell the difference they make. These bands are only £19.99 and if that can help your body then it's priceless.
Fake Grips
I have noticed that a few people are getting grips from online, and from the ones I have seen they are fake; in the pictures advertising them they will use a photo of a real one.
They look similar but are however nothing like a real one, feeling much harder and more ridged.
The main fake grip I see are multi-compounds bought off eBay, although only this week I have had a warning of fake Super Stroke putter grips that have recently appeared. Don't buy fakes online; get genuine products here at your pro shop.
Putter Grips
More golfers are discovering the benefits of fatter putter grips. I use one and find they really help to keep the club head on line, especially from around five feet and in.
The larger grips help to take the hands out of the stroke. Less hand action results in more control and fewer putts.
I have stock of a wide range of putter grips so come in and ask to see them all. It only takes 2 minutes to fit a grip.
As we saw last week in the U.S open the putting is so crucial. Kaymer proved this theory with this solid putting; let's get you doing the same.
Care for Bunkers
Do you rake the bunkers? It is important to leave bunkers as you would expect to find them. If there is no rake don't just walk out and leave it, use your feet to smooth over the surface. Both footprints and shot marks must be removed. This is all the more important if it takes you multiple shots to get out. And don't just steam off in disgust; it is disrespectful to the players behind.
Divoting
Mr. Captain is asking for volunteers to help with divoting on Sunday 22nd June at 9.30am. The last divoting party was a huge success so we are hoping that we can get the same if not a better response. Just turn up with a bucket and help us to keep the course in the brilliant condition it is in.
By raking the bunkers, replacing divots and repairing pitch marks (all little things) we can keep our course to a high quality.
Shirts
We have a wide range of shirts in stock, with everything from crested to Cool Dry shirts. Don't just fancy one then but two and receive a glove free of charge. The crested Murray golf ones at £29.99 are 100% cotton and are getting harder to find.
Re- Grip
When grips become worn they go shiny and eventually crack like the picture. You will hold such grips tighter, losing precious feel and distance.
Get 10 of your clubs re-gripped with MD Golf Prides for only £35.00.
Shoes
Receive a free pack of socks (3 pairs) worth £7 when purchasing any shoes in store.
Trousers
Buy any Trousers and receive a free belt worth £7, and £5 off any shirt.
Wednesday Section Away Day
The Wednesday Section Away Day will be on Wednesday 23rd July at Cavendish Golf Club. To confirm your place on the trip pay a deposit of £10 in the Pro Shop.
Bernard Murray played Cavendish last week and managed to take this photo and further commented on its excellent condition.
Don't miss this one!
