Knockout Deadline
The deadline for entering this year's Knockouts is Monday 17th April, and I know that the draw for the first round matches will take place very soon after. There are three competitions to enter (all three are 'board competitions') these being the singles, the Fourball (pairs) and the Foursomes (pairs).
We have one person looking for a partner for the pairs so please contact us if you need a partner and we can pair you up. Enter in the Pro Shop and pay on entry, £5 per person per event.
Pro's Running Stableford
This will take place on Friday, Sunday and Monday over the bank holiday weekend. As long as the course remains the same this will be a running stableford so you can enter as many times as you like.
Motocaddy M Series Trolley
We have a Motocaddy M1 trolley (the one that won golf product of the year and folds down small) with £50 OFF. This is a deal exclusive to us and is on the one trolley only. It is a black one with an 18 hole lithium battery - now £499.99.
A Long Overdue Victory
The Masters didn't fail to entertain us. The dual of Sergio Garcia and Justin Rose was a fine spectacle over the last 9 holes. I think we saw a more confident and composed Sergio Garcia than we have seen before, with the highlight of Serg's surge being the eagle at the fifteenth. It was great to see such a high level of golf but most importantly the sportsmanship between the players was clear to see.
Sergio Garcia is a very popular winner, and it was fitting that Sergio's first major win coming on what was the 60th birthday of the Legend 'Seve Ballesteros'.
Hole In One
Saturday was Barry Hammond's birthday and Barry celebrated it with a hole in one at the fourth. Barry said he has had a few holes in one over the years with a couple of them coming at Mellor Golf Club - this one was 'an easy 5 iron'. Thanks to Ian Mottershead for this picture of Barry and Greg Mitchell which was taken just after the event. Barry wins half the 2's pot - £60.

Well done to all the winners and your accounts have been credited.
Junior Coaching

Fourteen juniors are now registered on the coaching programme and we are keen to recruit more, so if you know any children interested in golf please contact us in the Pro Shop and book them in.

It’s time to consider something different The majority of golfers are switching to Lithium batteries to power their electric trolley because, with a 5-year limited warranty, it provides a reliable and more cost-effective option than a Lead-Acid alternative. Now is the ideal time to swap as we’re offering £25 OFF a Lithium battery when you trade-in your old one. | Click here to find out why it pays to go Lithium |
