The Final Event Of The Winter OOM
We have lots to look forward to in the next couple of weeks or so.
The Pro's Cross Country is on Saturday April 1st and is one not to miss. For those that haven't played before, the cross country is a course devised by us and uses different parts of the course than usual (for example 6th tee to 15th green was a previous hole) also for those that have played before, each year we have a new adaptation of the cross country so be sure you get your name down early.
The Pro's Cross country is the final event in the Winter Order of Merit which is very close at the top, Geoff Loughlin is our current leader with 480 points and the gap is only 40 points from his nearest competitor Mike Short.

Captains' Drive-in
Barry Cocksey will be driving in as our new Captain and Mal Woodcock as Lady Captain on Sunday 2nd April. The Drive-in will commence at 1pm for a 1.30pm shotgun. There is a list on the board to enter the shotgun so please come along to support and join in.
Correct Grip Size
Correct grip size is often an overlooked area of club fitting, but grip size plays a huge role in the outcome of your shots. Having the wrong size grips leads to an incorrect hold on the club, and all sorts of misery. Loss of club head speed, direction of ball flight inconsistent, you name it really.
A grip too small increases hand action inducing a most undesirable shot to the left. Also grip size determines the amount of pressure we put on the grip, a good grip should be nice and relaxed and not strangling the club. If you have a Medium Large glove or bigger then you should be using thicker grips, we can make grips thicker at no extra cost when you buy new grips. We have a large variety of grips in stock and now is the best time to get your clubs re-gripped ready for the new season. We have 6 for the price of 5 on all grips.
Club Fitting
Having correctly fitted clubs is very important; clubs that don't work for you can leave you hitting bad shots and not enjoying your golf. We have our biggest range ever of demo products which are available for you to try and we can custom fit you with a variety of heads, shafts and more. Experience our custom fitting and compare your clubs to the latest equipment.
Abbie hit a Callaway Steelhead iron for the first time yesterday and was astonished by the feel and distance she achieved with a 7 iron. Abbie managed to hit the 7 iron 153 yards carry and a 168 total distance, sound too good to be true? Anne Gosling was our witness. Why not try them out for yourself.
New Members
Recently we have had lots of new people joining the golf club, mainly thanks to the condition of the course all year round, lots of people have left their previous clubs due to the winter policies of winter greens throughout the whole of winter regardless of the weather, the course closing too often, trolley bans etc etc - something that we do not have to deal with at Reddish Vale. Another reason is there are some fantastic deals which have also enticed new golfers to take up the game, make sure you are vigilant of people showing an interest in the game and bring them along to the club.
Swing Studio Update
We now have our own nearest the pin guide which shows each course, the par 3's, the yardages and the stroke indices. This is a quick and easy was to find courses within your range. There are lots of courses and holes to choose from. Nearest the pins are great to work on your iron game and also a great competitive game between friends, it is very addictive!
Do You Know Your Distances?
Don't know how far you hit each club? Find out in one of our gapping sessions, where you will learn how far you carry each club and your total distance. You will be able to see you club head speed on each shot as well as your swing path. At the end of your session you will receive your very own gapping card to keep and it will take the guess work out of your game.
