I can also compare your swing to those of leading players, so you can easily see why they are so good and how you can improve.

Using this technology I can store your record in a folder on the iPad so you can see the 'before and after'.

I can also upload your data onto the Ubersense database on the internet which is there for your exclusive access, so you can view it anytime on your phone whether you're at home or at the range practicing.

Are you using the best ball for you?

The golf ball is still the most regulated piece of kit in the rule book. But these amazing little spheres have moved on so much in the last few years and they perform so much better. Whether it's reducing side spin for straighter shots and more distance, or using a softer ball for improved feel and control around the greens, playing with the right type of golf ball for you can instantly benefit your game.

Ball fitting day at Reddish Vale

We are having a Bridgestone ball fitting day which will be on a Saturday at the end of June. The fittings will be conducted by a Bridgestone employed PGA Professional ball fitter who, with the help of a launch monitor, the practice net and a few of your shots will fit you in 15 minutes. There is no cost; you just need to book a time in with me in the pro shop. If you have never had a ball fitting or feel that perhaps you could improve your understanding of what is available these days, please book in as soon as possible.

Seniors Open

Tuesday 3rd June is the Seniors Open, there are still spaces if you are over 55 and want to invite a friend down this is the perfect chance. £24 for the pair this is an absolute steal. I know that unusually there are still places available, so contact Dave Bennett if you wish to enter.

Presidents Prize

Next weekend is The Presidents Prize played over both Saturday and Sunday. This is a drawn competition so if you wish to play on either day, you need to have your name on the sheet by Thursday at the latest. You do not need to play on both days to win a prize. You need to play on both days to win the overall prizes, but there are daily prizes as well. As is the tradition you will be greeted at the top of the 18th by The President, Graham Kennedy offering some refreshments.

Official handicaps

Presidents Sunday is a good opportunity for all 6 day members who normally play on a Sunday to submit a score which qualifies for handicap. You need to hand in three scores per year, played in club competitions and from the white tees to maintain an official handicap. If you don't submit three a year your handicap will become inactive, which means you are not eligible to enter or win club competitions. I would encourage all Sunday regulars to enter The Presidents and get a score in. I think there are only three such opportunities per year now the format of The Jubilee has been changed. Failing that, you could always join the Wednesday Section and get those cards in.

Unfortunately the rain has taken its toll this week. Saturday's Past Captain's Trophy had to be abandoned due to heavy rain and flooded greens. Paul Wheelton will be disappointed as he was first out and had already returned a score of 70-4=66. The rescheduled date is yet to be decided.

Wednesdays Medal was cancelled due to lack of players. The course was wet in the morning, but very fortunately we had no rain from 11 o clock until after dark that day and the course was perfectly playable all afternoon. If you wish to join the Wednesday Section it is easy. The Wednesday competitions are entered on a roll up basis like on a Sunday. You can tee off at 6pm if you think you can still make it round. If you are looking for a game please ring me so I can advise you which are the best times, and try to make the games up.

Pro's Stableford

This week's stableford was run over Sunday and Monday. 87 people took part, and most of these on the Monday. Although we had the fun day on Monday, most of the fun was on the golf course. Pete Watson was first out on Monday morning and came in with an incredible 42 points, Pete who has recently dropped to 9 shot 3 over gross and is now playing off 6. Second with 42 points was Derek Simpkins who just lost out on a card play-off, Derek shot 2 over gross, and he has now reduced from 8 to 6. Third this week with 40 points was Stewart Flint. Prizes went down to 8th place.

Hole in one

Another in my Pro's stableford!

This time Phil Booth has recorded a hole in one, this one coming at the 4th on Monday and is Phil's first.

Phil's well struck 5 iron kicked in off the edge of the right hand bunker before making its way into the hole. Phil was very please indeed as this is his first hole in 1. Phil also wins half the 2's pot a total of £43.50.
