Bramhall Park Exchange 

Remember that tomorrow's competition is at Bramhall Park Golf Club. Please remember to turn up there and not to us or Bramhall GC. You will be playing a 2 from 3 to count stableford, full handicap.

Junior Coaching 

The Junior Coaching throughout the school holidays have been a great success. The sessions have been well supported and we have roughly 20 juniors regularly coming for lessons. The juniors have all improved massively and are all very keen to get out on the golf course. 

The next coaching session is Saturday, 27 August, at 1pm-2pm for 5-8 year olds and 3pm-4pm for 9 year olds and above. 

Please contact the Pro Shop to book your child on for tomorrow, it is just £4 per child. Thank you to everyone who has supported these coaching sessions and we look forward to continuing the Junior Coaching sessions throughout the year. 

Please keep your eye out for the dates which we will announce shortly.


 


The weather wasn't great for what was a busy weekend but fortunately we did actually manage to play on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. 

Friday - Captain's Charity Day 

Looked very grim in the morning but thankfully the day was a real success. The greens staff did a fantastic job so the course was playable and 18 teams played. Nobody won the £5000 for a hole in one at the 6th and nobody got a '2' there either. 

The Lady Captain's team were victorious with 102 and Lady Captain getting 46 of them herself! 

Saturday - Norman Pike Trophy 

Two of this year's best scores came on the same day, with Adie Ord and Franc Brown somehow managing nett 65's in windy conditions. So yet another play-off is needed to decide the winner, Paul Bruckshaw was third with 78-11=67. 

There were 15 two's worth £6.00 each. 

Sunday - Pro's Stableford 

Gareth Eyres won Sunday's Stableford with 37 points, second was John Ebbs with 36 points and Jason Leech finished third with 35 points. 

Richard Howard had the only two of the competition, which was worth £16. Click here to see the full results. 

RV Trophy 

81 people played so the event was another success this year. Andrew Rexstraw won our RV Trophy with an excellent nett 67, three ahead of second place Andrew Keane on nett 70. Jack Brooks was third also with a nett 70. Jack who is off +1 also had the lowest gross of 69. 

The two's were worth £7.50 each. 

Next Presentation 

The next presentation will be on Saturday, 3 September, at 6pm. Please try and keep this date free if you have won a prize. There will be a list of all the prize winners on next week's newsletter and a sheet will be up on the notice board. 

Wednesday Section Stableford 

Jason Leech won Division 1 with 40 points, which means he has now reduced to 5. Division 2 was won by Stewart Flint with 35 points and Ethan Stansfield won Division 3 with 37 points. 

There were 9 two's worth £6.66 each. 


 

Reddish Vale ladies won their group matches in the East Cheshire Inter Club Shield, putting them through to the quarter finals. 

They played Alsager on Monday, 22 August, unfortunately they lost, but put up a strong challenge, taking their opponents to the 18th and 20th holes in two of the matches. 

Match secretary Mal Woodcock said:

'It is the first time I have known the ladies to win their group and that in itself is quite an achievement when there are so few ladies available for team golf.'
