Gapping sessions
Learn how far you hit the ball with each club by booking a gapping session on the GC2. It lasts about an hour; it'll be quite an education and could be your best spent £25 this year.
Basically, you will learn how far you carry the ball with each club and we will identify any gaps in your armoury.

Swing path - what is it?
Your swing path is the path of the clubhead as it goes through the impact position. You know, in-to-out and out-to-in etc. Is it important? Yes, because it has a major influence on your ball flight. The more offline your swing path, the more offline you will play shots and also with more unwanted side-spin. For example, a swing path which is out-to-in ('hitting across it') causes pulls and slices.
Anyway, I can show you your exact swing path because the GC2 analyses your path on every shot and displays it on the screen. I can also explain how to improve your swing path, and you will see the difference. You can see the exact path and also a measurement - to a tenth of a degree - of how offline it is (with 0.0 degrees being straight down the ball to target line). Andy Humphrey was the first player to record a swing path of 0.0 degrees offline incidentally, and there have been a few others since.
Many players are very surprised by what their swing path actually is, and I am finding that this technology is helping players to understand their resulting ball flight more easily. Put yourself to the test and see the truth before your eyes.
Abbie's 1st Professional Tournament
On Monday I will be playing in my first tournament as a professional, at Little Aston Golf Club (Birmingham) which is an Open qualifying course. I am looking forward to the competition as I feel I am playing well, and I will also be playing in front of former Solheim Cup Captain Alison Nicholas. I have entered several WPGA events throughout the year where I hope to have a successful year. I am still trying to improve my technique with help from the Pro; we are working on shortening my swing and staying more connected in order to make my game more consistent.
I will let you know how I get on next week.
Junior Coaching
The next Junior gathering will take place on Sunday, 29 May at 2:30pm. The sole purpose of these sessions is to allow the juniors to have a go at golf to see if they enjoy it and it allows them to socialise with other juniors at the golf club. Please let us know if your child/grandchild will be coming so we can have an idea on numbers.
Motocaddy M1 and M3 trolleys are back in stock. These are the really compact ones that won the product of the year award at the 2015 European Golf Trade Show. Click here to learn more.
Here is the new range of enamel-finished ball markers, pitchforks and hat clips that came in this week. This is a new design that I did over the winter which features the club crest, the year Reddish Vale was founded and contains the name of our course designer, Dr Alister MacKenzie. This is also the first enamel-finished range and I am really pleased how they have turned out. The ball markers are £2 each, and the hat clip & marker, and pitch fork & marker are £5.99 each. They may not lower your scores much but they are lovely.
Presentation - The next presentation is this Saturday, 7 May at 6pm. If you have won a voucher, please turn up in your jacket and tie to collect your winnings from the Captain. Click here to see the list of voucher winners.
