Hello golfers,
New season, new golf shoes…save £20
The new FJ Contours arrived this week and we have an introductory offer of £20 off each pair. There is a choice of either black and white and a full range of sizes including some wide fits at the moment.
This offer is in place of the traditional £20 shoe trade-in that we have done most years. This year you just get the money knocked off so fill your boots! These normally cost £120 and are now £99 for a limited time only.
MOT time?
Well done to all the people who have brought clubs in to be re-gripped. I have done so many in the last week that my knuckles have begun to crack!
I have invested in some hand cream and some gloves and I am ready to do some more. Our 6 for 5 offer on all grips is still available so get those worn grips replaced.
Also bring any spikes in to be replaced as the hill is still pretty slippery so don't be caught out.
Cross Country - The winter major?
Sorry can't show you the layout for Saturday as planned because this letter has had to go out a day earlier than normal this week and the course hasn't been mapped yet. Anyway, it will be different and there is still the odd space for anyone looking for a game.
Captain's Drive-In
The Captain's drive-in is on Sunday at 1.00 so please turn out in force to watch our new Captains drive-in. I would like to wish Tony Barnes and Jeanette Kinder a successful drive-in and an excellent year ahead.
I would also like to thank the outgoing Captains Allan Duffy and Sheila Brookes for their good work as Captain's.
Saturday's 2 from 3 to count bogey was won by Steve Booth, Steve McCann and Dave Walton with a tremendous 13 up.
There is only one OOM left to play which is next week's Pro's Cross Country. The OOM is very close with only 25 points separating 1st and 2nd.

Lee Costello won Sunday's Pro's Stableford with 33 points, one ahead of Sean Briscoe and Jonathon Knight. Prizes went down to 5th this week. There were 5 two's each worth £9.00.

Don't forget there will be a running stableford on Friday, Sunday and Monday, you can enter as many times as you like.
Wednesday's Stableford produced some high scores, and was won by Alan Ramsden with 36 points, on a card play-off from Pete Simister. Steve Austin finished third with 34.
Double Rollover Winner
We had a double rollover on two's on Wednesday, with £51.00 in the pot from two previous Wednesday competitions. Nick Devine will be a happy man as Nick's '2' at the 6th was the only two of the day, and Nick takes the whole pot of £82.00!
