Best Practice
The golf season is only a few weeks away and some of the faces that last appeared at the end of the last season have begun to re-appear. So for those players I would suggest that now is a good time to start practicing, especially with the improved facilities at the club.
The chipping/pitching area is a good place to begin if you don't mind the elements - a chance to remind your body what to do and get some feel back before taking on the longer shots. If you prefer the warmth and dryness of the indoor Swing Studio, you can practice any discipline from chipping to driving, and you will also learn correct yardages.
It is always summer in the Studio!
You can set the practice mode so that you are on a range, chipping area or on a choice of 16 Championship golf courses! You simply play shots into the screen and watch them fly down the hole. There is now a very simple guide on the wall beside the monitor in the Studio, so whatever you want to practice or learn, you can find it very quickly.
Most Innovative Product 2015
The Foresight Sports GC2 (Game Changer 2) launch monitor (which is the all singing, all dancing one that is upstairs in the clubhouse) was awarded 'Most innovative product of 2015' at the National Golf Show in Harrogate. I must say the technology is amazing and it has truly revolutionised what we can do to change your game. Hire the studio, book a lesson or have a club fitting - come and see what we can do for you.
Andy Hart's driver speed?
Last week I asked you to estimate the highest swing speed achieved by Andy Hart during a driver fitting in the Swing Studio. Thank you to all those who responded, I can tell you nobody was quite correct but the person who was closest, and who wins the driver fitting, is Bryan Rendell. Bryan's estimate of 87mph was very close to the actual figure of 86mph so well done, Bryan.
I know Bryan's hand has recovered after firstly being trampled by Danny Marsh in last season's exchange day at Sale Golf Club, and then being bitten by a dog - so I am hoping he can overcome his current ailments and take advantage of this prize soon. I took the photo above of Bryan at the recent Gentleman's Dinner.
