Simon Clegg, back after his winter break found form on Saturday, as he had the best back nine out of himself and Neil Blakeley, both on 37 points.. I think we will be hearing more of recent new member Neil Blakeley who came from Hazel Grove with a 22 handicap. Yes it is genuine, I saw the certificate! Third this week was Paul Wheelton with 35 points, beating five people on a countback.

There were only six two's all worth £15.66 each.

Chris Byrne wins again! Chris successfully defended his win last week and has won this week's Pro's Stableford with 35 points. Kevin McCrevey SNR won on a card play-off from Steve Moss both with 34 points.

Unfortunately and quite bizarrely no golf this Saturday as the Cheshire and Lancashire men are playing. If you fancy a game after 3pm then tee times are available on brs. Everyone is welcome to come down and watch them play, they're playing foursomes in the morning and singles in the afternoon.

Dunham Trophy

We played away at Stockport Golf Club on Sunday and but unfortunately Stockport made their home advantage pay with a 4-3 victory. Adam Stott, Ryan Jackson and Ryan Swift were our victorious trio. Thank you to our team who did well, and to Stockport who looked after us.

The Masters

The Masters is here! I don't know if you watched any of the junior champions taking part in the new Drive, Chip and Putt competition on Tuesday, but it was a pleasure to watch and a perfect way to begin the week. It is a new event in which some very talented juniors take on a range of shots, and in front of quite a crowd. Several of the big names including Bubba Watson and Fred Couples were watching it on TV and decided to go along and become a part of it. These children are all super talented and who knows if we will see them playing round Augusta themselves in the Masters.

The course looks as pristine as ever but who will win? I get asked a lot who I would put my money on and it's always hard to predict a winner. Who should I give the kiss of death to this year? I would go for a left hander probably Bubba or Phil so I will say Bubba Watson.

This Sunday I will be having an individual Masters Stableford. Just like a normal Sunday it will be a roll up on the day, although please be sure to book tee times on BRS as without a Saturday competition I think this Sunday will be rather busy.

Thank you to everybody who had a go in my draw to win the limited edition signed prints of Augusta. It filled up extremely quickly and I shall draw the lucky winners on Sunday evening. Please come to the club and watch the golf on Sunday as the bar is staying open late specially.

Divoting

Well done to the members of Reddish Vale who came divoting on Sunday. Over 20 people turned up with their bucket to help Mr Captain, Lady Captain and Nick divot the fairways. Even though the weather wasn't great, it didn't seem to put anybody off. Nick was delighted with the turnout, and couldn't believe that because so many had turned out, that they were finished in an hour and a half. This is really helping the club, improving the course and saving the greens staff precious time with which they can further benefit the course.

A few people brought their dogs' divoting too; which was fine, but if you do please, please, take the dog home with you afterwards. One divoter happened to drive off without his beloved pet, but realized a while later and the pair were soon re united! Thanks again to everyone that helped, it is good to see such pride in the course and it is much appreciated.
